Crisalion Mobility, Skyrisks Sign MOU to develop eVTOL insurance policies
Crisalion Mobility, a Spanish eVTOL and general electric mobility company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) insurance specialist Skyrisks, first devised at the Dubai Air Show, reports a press release. UK-based Skyrisks is a leader in aircraft insurance and risk management solutions for the fast-growing AAM sector.
The official signing ceremony was attended by senior executives from the two companies, including Crisalion Mobility COO, Óscar Lara Rapp, and Skyrisks CEO, Alistair Blundy.
The companies’ goals under the new agreement are to:
: Investigate appropriate frameworks and ways of working between eVTOL OEMs and insurance companies to ensure effective and efficient insurance policies can be in place for eVTOL OEMs and operators.
: Work together to assess key parameters for eVTOL insurability.
: Propose methodologies to measure these parameters.
: Evaluate the drivers of insurance costs and how design decisions may affect them.
: Investigate appropriate insurance methodologies for eVTOL needs during design, testing, prototyping, certification, and operation phases.
The collaboration allows the partners “to share specialist insights, identifying and mitigating the risks associated with eVTOLs. The two partners will also exchange key technical data to allow for accurate risk assessment and to create policies that respond effectively to the needs of all parties involved,” explains the release.
Óscar Lara Rapp, commented, “This collaboration with Skyrisks marks a pivotal agreement, where our dedication to minimising operating costs while preserving quality for our customers, aligns seamlessly with their disruptive insurance expertise.” He continued, “As an eVTOL OEM, we bring to the table our knowledge in design and manufacturing, while Skyrisks brings specialised insurance insights.”
