EHang Establishes Thailand Hub to Support Regional eVTOL Deployment
EHang has established a regional hub in Thailand to support the deployment of its electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and coordinate projects across Southeast Asia and other emerging markets.
Announced on 30 October, the hub will serve as a base for aircraft, equipment and operational resources, with the aim of reducing transport and coordination times between projects. EHang plans to position an initial fleet of 25 EH216‑S pilotless passenger aircraft in Thailand to support local flight validation, operational preparation and deployments in neighbouring markets.
Thailand already forms part of EHang’s international expansion strategy. The company has been conducting flight validation and working with local authorities under an advanced air mobility (AAM) sandbox initiative. The new hub is intended to build on that activity and provide support for projects at different stages of development.
EHang also has an established aerial media business in the country. It said approximately 1,200 GD4.0 formation drones had been deployed in Thailand for light shows, with plans to increase the fleet to more than 10,000 units. The regional hub is intended to support this business alongside passenger mobility, aerial logistics and emergency-response applications.
The company outlined several planned developments in other markets. In Sri Lanka, sandbox launch activities and validation flights at Port City Colombo are expected to begin in November, with commercial operations targeted by the end of 2026 under the applicable local regulatory framework.
In Vietnam, EHang expects to conduct EH216‑S validation flights within a sandbox area in Hanoi during November. In Malaysia, it is preparing an initial flight demonstration in Putrajaya in the same month, following sandbox cooperation announced with the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia in October.
EHang also plans to demonstrate the EH216‑S in Thailand during the International Civil Aviation Organization’s Advanced Air Mobility Symposium in Bangkok in December.
