EHang: Latest News Updates

EHang is as busy as ever, although its web­site news page offers lit­tle infor­ma­tion, just two sto­ries for 2023.

First off, the com­pa­ny has tak­en a large trade stand at the 133rd Can­ton Fair in Guang­dong, Chi­na (Sat­ur­day, 15th April — Wednes­day, April 19th). EHang will be dis­play­ing three of its EH216 series AAVs at stand 20.2 A09-29. The event is the old­est, largest and most rep­re­sen­ta­tive trade fair in Chi­na, first begin­ning in 1957.

On Twit­ter this week a graph­ic image of a ver­ti­port for EHang eVTOLs planned for the City of Hezhou in Guangxi Province was post­ed. This project was first announced in April 2020. Accord­ing to the orig­i­nal press release, “The E‑port ter­mi­nal build­ing will be three sto­ries cov­er­ing 2,500 square metres. Archi­tec­tur­al fea­tures include a first-floor recep­tion hall, sec­ond floor pas­sen­ger wait­ing area and a third-floor departure/arrival zone. Four land­ing pads will be locat­ed on the roof-top, which can accom­mo­date the land­ing/­take-off of four AAVs simul­ta­ne­ous­ly.”

A few weeks back an arti­cle appeared on eastwestconnect.com enti­tled “EHang and Xiyu Tourism sign coop­er­a­tion frame­work agree­ment in 2023 — Scenic Area Project Pro­mo­tion and Sign­ing Con­fer­ence held by the part­ner.”

Pro­posed Hezhou Ver­ti­port

The arti­cle explains that on March 24th, dur­ing a con­fer­ence call to pro­mote tourism in Xin­jiang, a Li Xin­ping, the gen­er­al man­ag­er of a major scenic tourism com­pa­ny called Xiyu, signed an agree­ment with EHang to invest and col­lab­o­rate on var­i­ous tourist fly­ing routes in the region. It is pro­posed that up to 120 216 AAVs will be utilised.

The plan is to part­ner a project for fly­ing over the Tianchi Scenic Area that includes Tur­pan Flame Moun­tain, the Jiey­ou Princess Laven­der region and Guhai Hot Springs, and to estab­lish a dig­i­tal plat­form, car­ry out pro­mo­tion and mar­ket­ing of online and offline themed activ­i­ties, devel­op route com­bi­na­tions, link­age reward poli­cies for scenic spots, etc.. There are close to 100 well-known trav­el agen­cies based in Xin­jiang.
