James Craven joins eVTOL Insights as Head of Business Development (Americas) to boost presence in region ahead of exciting year

eVTOL Insights has now expand­ed its grow­ing team by appoint­ing James Craven as its new Head of Busi­ness Devel­op­ment (Amer­i­c­as), where he will help con­tin­ue to grow the brand in the region.

With eVTOL Insights’ busy sched­ule in 2024, James will play a cru­cial role along­side Doreen Pupil­lo, eVTOL Insights’ Head of Part­ner­ships, as the pair show­case the var­i­ous oppor­tu­ni­ties at events planned through­out the year to more com­pa­nies.

These include the next ‘Behind Closed Doors’ pri­vate net­work­ing before the Sin­ga­pore Air­show on Feb­ru­ary 19th, eVTOL Insights’ Mon­tre­al con­fer­ence from May 1st to 3rd and anoth­er ‘Behind Closed Doors’ event before the Farn­bor­ough Air­show on July 21st.

Com­ment­ing on his appoint­ment, Jason Pritchard, eVTOL Insights’ Exec­u­tive Edi­tor, said: “James is no stranger to the Advanced Air Mobil­i­ty mar­ket and is very well known to the indus­try, so we’re super excit­ed to bring his enthu­si­asm and many years of sales expe­ri­ence to the team. We’ve got lots of excit­ing events planned for this year and con­fi­dent James can help us expand our reach to more com­pa­nies which want to ben­e­fit from indus­try expo­sure at our events.”

James was born into avi­a­tion on a US Air Force base in Waco, Texas. After grad­u­at­ing from Boston Uni­ver­si­ty, James began his career as a char­ter tour whole­saler, which even­tu­al­ly led to the adver­tis­ing depart­ment at East­ern Air­lines head­quar­tered in Mia­mi, Flori­da.

At the height of US air­line dereg­u­la­tion, James piv­ot­ed out of avi­a­tion and into media sales spend­ing fif­teen years with the trav­el trade pub­li­ca­tion, Trav­el Week­ly.

Dur­ing his time at Trav­el Week­ly, James con­ceived, devel­oped and launched Trav­el Weekly’s dai­ly e‑newsletter in the mid-1990’s, putting the pub­li­ca­tion on the lead­ing edge of elec­tron­ic inno­va­tion. He con­tin­ued to man­age Trav­el Weekly’s online pres­ence until 2001.

After 9/11, James formed the Craven Trav­el Group serv­ing as a con­sul­tant and adjunct exec­u­tive for such trav­el indus­try sta­ples as Nation­al Geo­graph­ic Trav­el­er, Trav­el Agent Mag­a­zine, Miles Media, the Bahamas Min­istry of Tourism and USAI TV Trav­el Net­work. James also assist­ed in the sale of TBEX from founder to cur­rent own­er Blog­World, stay­ing on as Sales Direc­tor.

In 2010, James joined the start-up Tnooz as Sales Direc­tor — Amer­i­c­as, and helped grow Tnooz from a start-up into an ongo­ing con­cern. In 2017 James helped launch anoth­er dig­i­tal trav­el tech­nol­o­gy news pub­li­ca­tion, Pho­cusWire as Direc­tor. Busi­ness Devel­op­ment.

James lives in Mia­mi, Flori­da and has trav­eled through more than 75 coun­tries and 49 US states.
