LIVE INTERVIEW: Matt Farides shares Evolito’s electric propulsion revolution at eVTOL Insights’ North America Conference

In a world striving for cleaner skies, one company is leading the charge —literally. Evolito, born from the cutting-edge technology of YASA motors, is reimagining aviation through the power of electric propulsion.

Matt Farides, Evolito’s VP of Business Development, shares the company’s mission: to revolutionize air travel with lighter, more efficient, and compact electric motors. Originally developed for high-performance electric cars like Ferraris, these axial flux motors have now found their calling in the skies.

Their unique design makes them ideal for aircraft—offering high power-to-weight ratios, compactness, and precise control, crucial for vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) and fixed-wing aircraft.

The journey hasn’t been without its challenges. Adapting ground-based technologies for aviation required meeting stringent aerospace standards. But Evolito has succeeded, creating propulsion systems that don’t just meet expectations—they soar past them.

Matt emphasizes the importance of collaboration. Evolito works closely with aircraft manufacturers to ensure that their systems are tailored to real-world applications. From urban air mobility to regional transport, the future of flight is not only greener but smarter.

As Matt speaks, it’s clear: this isn’t just about motors. It’s about unlocking a new era of aviation—quieter, cleaner, and more sustainable.
