The MOU was signed by Daniel O’Neill, General Manager of Skyports Middle East and H.E. Omar Mohammed Lootah, Director General of Ajman Transport Authority. The partnership will assist with the enhancement of the United Arab Emirate’s (UAE) transport ecosystem “by adopting integrated and intelligent mobility solutions that meet future needs and align with community aspirations,” explains the release.

The Memorandum includes areas of collaboration involving studies and research in the development of smart aerial transport infrastructure, identification of suitable locations for essential facilities, as well as enhancement of technical and operational readiness.

O’Neill said at the signing agreement, the partnership represented “a valuable opportunity to collaborate on enabling advanced aerial mobility technologies in Ajman, and developing supporting infrastructure in line with the General Civil Aviation Authority’s (GCAA) recent vertiport regulations.”

Mohammed Lootah added that the agreement “is part of the Authority’s vision to embrace innovative transport solutions which support Ajman’s transformation into a smart city.”
