Sarla Aviation Collaborates with Makmor “to Develop Nationwide Vertiport Ecosystem Around India”
Sarla Aviation, an eVTOL developer and manufacturer, announced this week it is collaborating with Makmor, an infrastructure builder, to identify key locations for the construction of vertiports around India, says a Linkedin post. This partnership will focus on integrating vertiports into residential, commercial and hospitality developments.
Makmor is best known for its experience in greenfield infrastructure development and brings with it a strong network of regional and global partners.
Sarla Aviation, India’s first manufacturer of eVTOLS, will work closely with the company to identify and then activate key locations that can host future vertiports, enabling a new era of urban air mobility in the country.
At the beginning of this year, Sarla launched its six-seat Shunya eVTOL, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in Delhi. This air taxi aims to transform urban air travel in India by introducing the world’s most economical and sustainable ride-sharing model.
The company has announced plans to start air taxi services in Bengaluru by 2028, and then gradually roll out into other cities in India.
