“Sora Aviation, ANH Structure Sign MOU For eVTOL Cabin Development”

Sora Avi­a­tion, the UK-based devel­op­er of a 30-seat S‑1 eVTOL air­craft and ANH Struc­ture, a glob­al aero­space Tier 1 sup­pli­er based in South Korea, signed a Mem­o­ran­dum of Under­stand­ing (MOU) at the recent Paris Air Show to part­ner on the devel­op­ment of the cab­in and cock­pit inte­ri­ors for the Sora S‑1, reports a press release.

This col­lab­o­ra­tion unites Sora’s work in large eVTOL design with ANH’s exper­tise in aero­space struc­tures and cab­in inte­ri­ors. The two par­ties will focus on cre­at­ing a light­weight, cer­ti­fi­able and pas­sen­ger-focused inte­ri­or, tai­lored to the unique mis­sion pro­file of the S‑1, rang­ing from air­port shut­tle oper­a­tions to region­al air links. 

Furqan, CEO of Sora Avi­a­tion, com­ment­ed, “The S‑1’s planned wide range of mis­sions demands a dif­fer­ent approach to cab­in lay­out, acces­si­bil­i­ty and bag­gage han­dling. We’re look­ing to devel­op a lay­out that is com­fort­able and intu­itive for the peo­ple who will rely on it every day.”

He added, “ANH brings world-class capa­bil­i­ty in cer­ti­fied aero­space inte­ri­ors, mak­ing them an ide­al part­ner for this next phase of devel­op­ment.”

The release explains, “ANH Struc­ture is the only South Kore­an aero­space com­pa­ny to hold both EASA Design Organ­i­sa­tion Approval (DOA) and Pro­duc­tion Organ­i­sa­tion Approval (POA), mak­ing it unique­ly posi­tioned to sup­port advanced air­craft pro­grams tar­get­ing inter­na­tion­al cer­ti­fi­ca­tion and indus­tri­al­i­sa­tion.”

The company’s CEO, Hyon Su Ahn, remarked, “The S‑1 rep­re­sents a smart, scal­able solu­tion to meet the grow­ing demand for clean, effi­cient air mobil­i­ty. Our expe­ri­ence in deliv­er­ing high-integri­ty cab­in and struc­tur­al sys­tems to glob­al OEMs aligns per­fect­ly with Sora’s vision of trans­form­ing aer­i­al mobil­i­ty.”

The MOU marks an impor­tant step for­ward in strength­en­ing inter­na­tion­al col­lab­o­ra­tion between the UK and South Korea on Advanced Air Mobil­i­ty, to accel­er­ate the glob­al roll­out of zero emis­sions air­craft.

Avi­a­tion Min­is­ter Mike Kane said, “British air­craft design and man­u­fac­tur­ing remains the best in busi­ness and it’s great to see this part­ner­ship demon­strate how UK firms are cham­pi­oning the design of advanced air­craft like eVTOLs.” 

Adding, “Not only does this col­lab­o­ra­tion help main­tain the UK’s posi­tion as a world leader in avi­a­tion it dri­ves inno­va­tion, sup­ports jobs and helps us deliv­er on our growth mis­sion.”
