U.S: Walmart, Wing Set to Expand Drone Delivery in Dallas Metro
The collaboration between Walmart and Wing Drone Delivery is expanding to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex in the coming weeks, reports a Wing website post. It begins with accessing the goods, products and counter-medicines from two Walmart Supercentres.
Shannon Nash, CFO of Wing, writes on the company website, “What does all this mean for the communities we serve in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex?First and foremost, it means a whole lot more of you are going to be able to access the service. The number one question we get from folks around the Dallas area is when drone delivery will be available at their homes. We’ll start at the Walmart Supercentre at 8555 Preston Road in Frisco, adding a large section of central and eastern Frisco to the service area (our most-requested expansion area since we first launched in western Frisco in 2021).”

Shannon continues, “The service will be available to homes within approximately 6 miles of the stores. We’ve heard from many of you that we need to provide evening hours, and so I’m happy to share that our new hours of operations will be 10:30am until 6:30pm. We’re also extending to 6 days a week (open every day except Wednesdays).” Adding, “Last, but certainly not least, you will be able to get your deliveries in under 30 minutes.” A second nearby Walmart store is set to launch before the end of this year.
Wing’s drones cruise at 65 mph and use a tether to gently deliver even delicate items like a carton of eggs, to very precise locations outside customer homes in urban and suburban environments.
Shannon enthuses, “We can’t wait to get started. Especially if you live in the north Dallas suburbs, make sure you’ve got the Wing app installed and start thinking about your first order!”
