UK: Snowdonia Aerospace Centre Unveils “First Permanent Vertiport”
The UK’s first permanent vertiport was officially unveiled last week in Llanbedr, North Wales, reports a press release. Designed by Bristol-based SLiNK-TECH, the launch marked a significant milestone for the UK drone industry.
Snowdonia Aerospace Centre (SAC) purchased the PORTAL vertiport in January and completed its installation at the end of June. The drone hub is automated and offers an integrated flight management at any location. PORTAL will be used for testing and trials at the site.
To mark the occasion, leaders from the drone industry, as well as policymakers, travelled to Llanbedr for a launch party, an event featuring demonstrations and discussions over two days.
