“XTI Aerospace Announces MOU with VerdeGo Aero”
XTI Aerospace recently announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with VerdeGo Aero, a provider of hybrid-electric propulsion technology for aircraft, reports a press release.
The release states, “XTI is seeking optimal powertrain solutions for military and civilian market opportunities within the unmanned aircraft systems market segment. Throughout the development of its TriFan 600 airplane and derivatives, the company has continually evaluated technologies to maximise the performance of its aircraft.”
The collaboration allows XTI to design variants from the outset of the agreement to fully leverage the performance and efficiency benefits enabled by such hybrid propulsion.
Benefiting from the progress VerdeGo has made towards maturing its hybrid powerplant programs over the past two years, “both companies see potential synergies and customer solutions,” continues the release.
The MOU agreement provides a framework to collaborate on aircraft mission performance targets and related power requirements. Potential opportunities include military and commercial UAS logistics as well as cargo missions where speed, range and VTOL performance is paramount.
