Respected EV Entrepreneur François Randin Joins Aerovolt
UK-based Aerovolt, a leading battery charging network company for electric aircraft, has appointed Swiss entrepreneur, François Randin, to its Board, reports a press release.
Randin’s reputation goes before him. He designed and launched the first charging station for electric aircraft in 2020. Before that he was the founder and CEO of two electric mobility startups which were later bought by blue chip companies.
These were:-
: Green Motion, founded in 2009 which became one of the first startups designing and manufacturing charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. This was acquired by Eaton in 2021.
: Evpass, Founded in 2018, that developed into the largest charging network for electric vehicles in Switzerland. This was taken over by Shell in 2023.
Philip Kingsley-Dobson, Aerovolt‘s Founder and CEO, commented, “François is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the EV industry. He is bringing to the team his unique 15 years’ experience in our business, his international network and an extensive start-up and entrepreneurship expertise.”
Randin added, “Led by experienced and visionary entrepreneurs, Aerovolt is the most promising start-up in the electric mobility space today. I am proud to join the team and support the company in its growth and international plans.”

Background
Aerovolt was founded in 2022. Today, it is deploying the world’s first smart aircraft charging network, working alongside manufacturers, regulators and airport operators.
This includes engagement with close to 70 UK airports (11 fully exclusive); six installations completed and 18 additional sites scheduled for 2024; a commercial contract pending with CAA International for the Aerovolt ATIS system; a preparation to roll out the network outside of the UK; conducting the first airfield to airfield eVTOL flight.
