Manta Aircraft’s Long Range Hybrid Electric eVSTOL Program “to be Supported by Altair”
Manta Aircraft announced this week that Altair, a leader in computational intelligence, has signed an agreement to collaborate on the development of its ANN series of eVSTOL Aircraft, reports a press release. The announcement was made at the recent Abu Dhabi DRIFTx event. Focus will be on Altair’s Aerospace Accelerator Program aimed at advancing the design of the scalable family of next-generation aircraft.
The Accelerator Program “offers unlimited simulation and data analytics software, as well as unlimited online and self-paced training, all while ensuring complete control for participating entities,” explains the release. “As part of the collaboration, Altair will provide software tools and computational intelligence solutions in the areas of digital engineering, AI and data analytics technologies. This support will drastically accelerate Manta Aircraft’s journey, reduce risks and costs and facilitate data-driven critical decision-making processes.”

Lucas Marchesini, CEO of Manta Aircraft, commented, “We are confident that with Altair’s expertise, we can solve outstanding technical challenges in the various areas of the Manta design by utilising the variety of tools now made available to us.”
Paolo Colombo, Director of Strategy, Aerospace and Defense at Altair, added, “This commitment is exemplified through our support of promising startups like Manta Aircraft, providing an acceleration program designed to overcome the specific challenges of the aerospace industry.”
Manta Aircraft will utilise these resources to finalise a design, in preparation for the manufacturing of 1:1 scale prototypes of its ANN2 demonstrator within the next 12 months. Additionally, the company will continue the design of other models such as the ANN Plus, a versatile multi-seater with 6 seats, as well as a drone configuration.
