Advanced Air Mobility is one of many topics covered at Revolution.Aero Global 2020
Some of the key questions about Advanced Air Mobility will be discussed at Revolution.Aero Global 2020, with industry experts from companies such as Jaunt Air Mobility, NASA, Uber Elevate, Vertical Aerospace and Wisk taking part.
The three-day virtual event takes place from December 8th to 10th and focuses on the future of flight, with each day addressing a key theme: Day one — Advanced Air Mobility; Day Two — Alternative Power & Sustainable Aviation and Day Three — Business Aviation — Investing in the Revolution.
Introducing the event on its website, it says: “During these unprecedented times when we are unable to meet in person in our usual venues of San Francisco and London, we will still bring everyone together for quality information sharing and networking through our global virtual event.
“The event will see new startups disrupting the market meet with companies that have been leading the industry for decades. Helping investors, analysts, journalists and other opinion formers understand this uniquely regulated industry and help regulators plot the future.
“Through a mix of live and on-demand content, watch panel discussions, presentations, interviews, fireside chats and more as well as taking part in networking opportunities through the dedicated event platform. The virtual ‘innovation room’ will also give all delegates the chance to find out more about the latest new ideas and concepts.”
Robert Courts MP, the UK’s Minister for Aviation, Maritime and Security at the Department of Transport, will give his opening remarks on the first day, before the first discussion about Partnerships in Urban Air Mobility. This will feature Gary Gysin, CEO of Wisk, and Bob Pearce, Associate Director at NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD).
Attentions will then switch to the infrastructure aspect, with Darrell Swanson of Swanson Aviation Consultancy moderating a talk entitled ‘Are We Dreaming About Vertiports? Talking about whether aircraft or infrastructure will come first, will be Lawrence Blakeley of Vertical Aerospace, Will Fanshawe, Founder of Halo Aviation and Youseff Hamadi, Staff Research Scientist at Uber Elevate.
Megan Prichard, Launch Manager for Uber Elevate will then give a talk about Community Acceptance and Equity, before the final session of day one is called ‘How Electric Aircraft will re-write the economics of flight’.
This will be moderated by Brian Flynn of DiamondStream Partners, and the panel includes Martin Peryea, Jaunt Air Mobility’s interim CEO, Jeff Engler, CEO of Wright Electric and Lee Human, President and CEO of AeroTec.
The second day of Revolution.Aero will focus on Alternative Power and Sustainable Aviation, which will begin with opening remarks from Tim Arel, Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Air Traffic Organisation at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Val Miftakhov, Founder and CEO of ZeroAvia, will then talk about ‘Making Sustainable Aviation — 100-seat Zero Emissions Jet by 2030’ before the first session of the day will focus on ‘Making Flight Greener Now’. This will feature Dan White, CEO and Co-Founder of Signol, Tom Parsons, Commercial Development Manager for Low Carbon at AirBP and Niclas Svenningsen, Manager of Global Climate Action at the United Nations Climate Change.
Other topics on this day include ‘Sustainability in Larger Firms’, which will be moderated by Starr Ginn, NASA’s Advanced Air Mobility National Campaign Lead, and feature Citi Research, AeroTec and McKinsey & Company.
‘The Challenges of Regulating Urban Air Mobility’ will consist of Doug Carr, Vice President of Regulatory and International Affairs at the National Business Aviation Administration (NBAA), Finch Fulton, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy at the US Department for Transportation, and John McGraw, Vice President of Regulatory Affairs at the National Air Transportation Association (NATA).
As well as the agenda over three days, there will also be more than a dozen on-demand sessions which cover a wide range of topics, such as the benefits of eSTOL aircraft in Advanced Air Mobility, considerations for ground-based based charging and overall energy needs, and post-COVID innovation strategies.
