Airspeeder Names First Three Pilots for Five-Team International Racing Series
Airspeeder has announced the first three pilots for its inaugural International Series, naming competitors from Australia, the United States and New Zealand ahead of an opening private race scheduled for Adelaide in November 2026.
Thomas Bitmatta will represent Airspeeder Team Australia, Mason West will compete for the DeLorean Airspeeder Team representing the United States, and Seth Moore will fly for Airspeeder New Zealand. Pilots for the remaining two national teams are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
The series will use electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) racing aircraft, marking a move for the selected pilots from smaller first-person-view (FPV) racing drones to larger electric aircraft. Airspeeder says the pilots will undertake simulator work, aircraft familiarisation and operational training before competing.

Bitmatta, based in Melbourne, is a five-time Australian Drone Nationals champion and has also won the MultiGP International Open World Cup twice. Alongside racing, he works as a drone cinematographer, engineer and mechanic.
West began racing through flight simulation before competing in events in the United States and internationally. He previously won an Airspeeder community simulator tournament and later joined a wildcard team in the Drone Champions League. His experience also includes technical work on live sports and entertainment broadcasts.
Moore, from Christchurch, New Zealand, is an FPV pilot and camera operator who films action sports and live events. He won the New Zealand title in 2026, has placed fifth overall at the Australian Drone Nationals and serves as president of Redzone Drone Racing in Christchurch.
Airspeeder said all three pilots bring experience in competitive drone flying, but will need to adapt to the handling characteristics and operational requirements of the larger racing aircraft. Moore has begun learning the platform using a simulator.
Global Drone Solutions has been named the series’ training provider partner. It will support pilot preparation alongside Airspeeder’s flight crew, with an emphasis on aircraft response, precision and operational discipline.
