Alpha Tools Joins Airspeeder Team Australia as Official Partner
Australian tooling brand Alpha Tools has joined Airspeeder Team Australia as an official team partner ahead of the Airspeeder International Series in November 2026. The partnership will see Alpha Tools provide specialised tooling for aerospace composites and advanced 3D-printed metal alloys used in the construction of the team’s electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) racing aircraft.
Team Australia competes with the Airspeeder Mk3C, which incorporates technologies covering aerodynamics, battery systems, electric propulsion and AI-enabled flight control. The partnership is focused on the practical requirements of building and maintaining the racing aircraft, , with the supplied tooling intended for work with composite structures and additively manufactured metal components.
Alpha Tools is part of Sheffield Group and brings more than five decades of Australian tooling experience to the programme. The company supplies cutting, drilling and power tool accessories for sectors including manufacturing, automotive, mining and construction.
Team Australia made its competitive debut at The Bend Motorsport Park in April 2026, where it flew the Mk3C during an Airspeeder demonstration staged within an existing motorsport facility. The team is now preparing for the International Series, which will bring together national teams competing with electric flying vehicles.
Airspeeder describes the series as a test environment for electric aircraft, autonomous systems and artificial intelligence. The racing platform is intended to provide a setting in which technologies associated with advanced air mobility can be developed and tested under competitive conditions.
Alpha Tools said that the partnership will allow it to contribute tooling expertise to an engineering programme involving composite materials, 3D-printed metals and electric propulsion systems.
The Airspeeder Mk3C and other aircraft competing in the series are being developed in Adelaide, making the Team Australia programme part of the wider South Australian advanced manufacturing and aerospace ecosystem.
