Australian Association for Uncrewed Systems to host AAM Summit 2022
The Australian Association for Uncrewed Systems (AAUS) is to host its advanced air mobility (AAM) Summit 2022 on 30–31 August 2022 as a hybrid event comprising a live conference with a virtual participation option.
Following the inaugural AAM Summit last year as a virtual event, it will attract a diverse range of speakers to explore Australia’s opportunities and challenges in adopting this innovative mode of transport.
The summit will include a range of presentation formats as well interactive panel discussions and Q&A sessions promoting audience participation. There will be time to network throughout the event, during fully catered breaks and the Summit Dinner.
Attendees will include key personnel from federal, state and local governments; civil aviation safety authority and international regulators; Airservices Australia and key eVTOL platform developers and manufacturers, as well as the aerospace and transport industries, infrastructure owners, property developers, digital service providers and the insurance sector.
Day 1 on Tuesday August 30 will include a session on setting the scene for AAM in Australia by summit chair Dr Reece Clothier of AAUS followed by a keynote address from Tim Pallas MP, treasurer for the Victorian Government, and then an AAM Summit scene setter from Dr Reece Clothier and Natasha Santha.
Following the morning tea break the Summit will include a session on AAM Investment Opportunities, chaired by Clem Newton-Brown of Skyportz, after which time there will be presentations and an interactive panel discussion with Michael Dyment of Nexa Capital Partners, Kevin Cox of Ferrovial Vertiports, Justin Portelli of Melbourne Airport and Bienna Chow of Breakthrough Victoria.
After lunch, there will be a presentation on Australian AAM ecosystem drivers chaired by Natasha Santha of LEK Consulting, followed by presentations and an interactive panel discussion with Peter Smith of Bartonvale Technologies, Sara Hales of Greenbird, Yun Yuan Tay of Skyports and Heidi Hauf of Boeing.
Subsequent to afternoon tea, there will be a session entitled “AAM — A New Vehicle or Aviation Sector?” chaired by Rob Weaver of Eve Air Mobility, and then an interactive panel discussion with Steven Campbell of the Regional Aviation Association of Australia, Lea Vesic of RMIT University, Rodney Higgins of Microflite and Aaron Shaw of Sydney Sea Planes.
Day 2 will include a session on Aircraft Updates Part 1 chaired by Reece Clothier of AAUS, followed by a Q&A session hosted by Catherine MacGowan of Wisk, Patrick Buckles of Beta Technologies and Diana Siegel of Electra.
Following morning tea, there will be a session on Aircraft Updates Part 2 chaired by Natasha Santha followed by a Q&A session hosted by Andrew Moore of AMSL Aero, Rob Weaver of Eve Air Mobility and Tony Laws of V‑STAR Powered Lift Aviation.
After lunch, there will be a session on Infrastructure & Integration chaired by Clem Newton-Brown (Skyportz), as well as presentations and and interactive panel discussion by Phil Owen of To70, Ronan Delaney of Arup, Dr Ronny Kutadinata of the Australian Road Research Board, and James Goodwin of the Australian Airports Association.
Following afternoon tea will be a session on Regulation, Airspace and Community chaired by Rob Weaver, followed by an interactive panel discussion with Chris Monahan of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, Bruce Dowdall of Airservices Australia, Elita Huynh of Archerfield Airport and Maria Catanzariti of Wing.
