Aviation expert joins Dufour Aerospace as lead engineer

Dufour Aerospace has appointed Simon Bendrey as a Lead Engineer, bringing significant industry knowledge to the Swiss VTOL start-up’s Project aEro.

Joining the business from Aeromobil, where he was its Chief Engineer, Simon has more than two decades’ experience in aviation. He has worked on projects from the F35 to satellites and also brings expertise in designing, developing and certifying various categories of aircraft.

Simon’s appointment bolsters the Dufour team, following the recent arrivals of Manuel Flepp and Karsten Fischer.

During his career, Simon has held various positions starting in structural analysis and design before becoming director of a number of engineering services companies. In recent years, he has concentrated on the technical advancement of the PAV and eVTOL industries and has held DOA signatory authority for a number of companies and products.

A press release on Dufour Aerospace’s website said: “Simon’s knowledge and experience of end-to-end vehicle design, manufacture and certification will be a great addition to Dufour, and we warmly welcome him as part of our growing team.”
