China: EHang “Attention HotSpot” For Dignitaries and Public at Canton Fair

Last week the 133rd Can­ton Fair, the longest-run­ning and largest event of its type in Chi­na, took place between April 15th and 19th. No sur­prise EHang was a star of the show after tak­ing a large trade stand to exhib­it three of its EH216 AAVs, reports eastwestconn.com.

Found­ed in 1957, the Can­ton Fair is held at Guang­dong, in the Haizhou dis­trict of Guangzhou twice a year (Spring and Autumn). The Fair is joint­ly spon­sored by the Min­istry of Com­merce and the People’s Gov­ern­ment of Guang­dong Province, and under­tak­en by the Chi­na For­eign Trade Cen­tre. It is viewed as the most impor­tant inter­na­tion­al trade event in Chi­na. Last week’s show attract­ed both record num­bers of exhibitors and crowds.

The three EHang AAVs on dis­play were the pas­sen­ger (216S); Fire (216F); and Car­go Logis­tics (216L). This was the first time EHang had exhib­it­ed its com­plete “fam­i­ly” togeth­er at such a major event. The media and pub­lic thronged to the company’s stand “mes­merised by the craft.”

Dig­ni­taries from across Chi­na includ­ing Wang Shouwen (Deputy Sec­re­tary of the Par­ty Lead­er­ship Group of the Min­istry of Com­merce, Inter­na­tion­al Trade Nego­tia­tor and Vice Min­is­ter at Min­is­te­r­i­al lev­el) and Ren Hong­bin (Chair­man and Par­ty Sec­re­tary of Chi­na Coun­cil for the Pro­mo­tion of Inter­na­tion­al Trade); as well as influ­en­tial lead­ers from around the world vis­it­ed the stand, where EHang’s Chief Oper­at­ing Offi­cer, Fang Xin, and oth­er com­pa­ny exec­u­tives gave detailed sum­maries of the AAVs.

Dur­ing the five-day exhi­bi­tion, more than 150 poten­tial Chi­nese and for­eign buy­ers from Asia, Africa, South Amer­i­ca and the Mid­dle East, also came to the EHang stand for busi­ness con­sul­ta­tion, tech­ni­cal exchanges and coop­er­a­tion nego­ti­a­tions.

Mean­while, the media swarmed around the dis­plays offer­ing eHang an array of exten­sive free pub­lic­i­ty. Organ­i­sa­tions includ­ed CCTV News, Chi­na Cen­tral Radio and Tele­vi­sion, Xin­hua News Agency, Chi­na News Agency, Chi­na Dai­ly, Greater Bay Area Satel­lite TV, South­ern Metrop­o­lis Dai­ly, Inter­face News and Kyo­do News.
