CityAirbus eVTOL arrives in Manching ahead of further flight testing
Airbus’ CityAirbus eVTOL has been moved to its test development centre in Manching, where the aircraft will continue its flight testing programme.
The 37-mile journey from Donauworth was made yesterday (Monday), and will now allow Airbus to test the CityAirbus at much higher speeds and for longer distances. Local media in Manching also got a close-up view of the CityAirbus once it arrived.

Earlier this year, the aircraft completed its first autonomous flight in Donauworth and Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Soder also paid a visit to the facility — where he also saw the aircraft hover in the air.
CityAirbus is an all-electric, four-seat, multicopter vehicle demonstrator that focuses on advancing remotely piloted electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) flight. The CityAirbus full-scale demonstrator conducted its first take-off in May 2019.
It is the second eVTOL concept by the aerospace giant, following the conclusion of its Vahana project last year — after 138 test flights.
