Ferrovial Vertiports appoints Craig Teasdale as vice president of operations

Ferrovial Vertiports, a division of Ferrovial Airports, has appointed Craig Teasdale as its Vice President of Operations to position itself as one of the strongest teams in the industry, key to the success of leading the future of air mobility.

Teasdale will be responsible for planning all operational activities within the network of vertiports that the company is developing to support the introduction of zero-carbon urban and regional air mobility services.

He has more than 20 years of experience in aviation with leadership and operational roles in the fixed-based operation (FBO) sector, having worked at Signature Flight Support Corporation, where he was Operations Director for most of his career.

Previous to that, he was general manager, and more recently, he helped build a new FBO start-up, Propeller Aero Services, where he was responsible for establishing all aspects of the operations.

Working with leading manufacturers and air service operators, the company is developing a series of vertiport networks in Europe and the United States, backed by its 70 years of transportation infrastructure experience. These infrastructures are essential to support all-electric, zero-carbon vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.

Ferrovial Airports CEO Luke Bugeja said: “As our Vertiports business develops, we continue to strengthen its management team and I am sure Ferrovial Vertiports CEO Kevin Cox and his team are prepared to lead the development of sustainable infrastructures, with solid support from Ferrovial’s construction and airports management experience.”

Cox added: “Craig brings a wealth of operational leadership experience to this new role, and will ensure our vertiports consider all relevant operational requirements from the design stage, developing the protocols for how they will be run, with safety, sustainability, and convenience for passengers and operators a priority.”

Ferrovial Vertiports will be intermodal centres integrated into the urban landscape that are adapted to the environment, reduce the acoustic impact, produce no emissions, and meet the highest energy efficiency standards through innovative design. In addition, they will be adaptable to serve multiple eVTOL aircraft types and business models.

Ferrovial Airports appointed Kevin Cox, with more than thirty years’ experience in the aviation sector, as CEO of its vertiports business in November 2021 to focus on the development of vertiport networks.

In October 2021, Vertical Aerospace agreed with Ferrovial to create a network of 25 vertiports across the UK — sites that enable the take-off, landing and recharging of eVTOL aircraft.
