FIA 2026: Matt Hill of Gotonomi on Operationalizing AAM — Scaling Digital Infrastructure & Comms

At the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, Jason Pritchard of eVTOL Insights spoke with Matt Hill, General Manager of Gotonomi, about scaling the advanced air mobility (AAM) industry.

Hill highlighted that as operations move from single flight demonstrations to scalable fleets, access to data and digital air traffic management becomes essential. Conversations have shifted from initial capital expenditure (CapEx) to operational expenditure (OpEx), with operators prioritizing resilient, cost-effective communications and strict dollar-per-flight optimizations.

To address connectivity and cybersecurity demands, Gotonomy partners with companies to ensure built-in encryption and seamless transitions between cellular and satellite networks.

Looking ahead, Hill emphasized that bridging current gaps requires local partnerships, integrated avionics, and centralized data management to establish a fully connected, commercially viable AAM ecosystem.
