Kitty Hawk and Jump Aero in latest group of companies to become GAMA members
The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) has welcomed five new memberships, which include eVTOL aircraft developer Kitty Hawk and Jump Aero, the California-based startup building an eVTOL aircraft for emergency first responders.
Kitty Hawk has joined as an Associate Member Full, alongside Genesis Air Mobility — a brand of Hyundai — Joby Aviation, Lilium and Wisk as other eVTOL aircraft manufacturers. Jump Aero has joined as Associate Members EPIC, with companies including Alaka’i Technologies, AutoflightX, VerdeGo Aero and Volocopter.
Also joining GAMA include Aviation Safety Resources as a member. The company designs, tests and produces whole emergency recovery parachutes for experimental and general aviation aircraft — as well as the advanced air mobility and unmanned aerial systems (UAS) markets.
It has also been selected by Bye Aerospace to supply whole aircraft recovery parachutes systems for its eFlyer2 aircraft.
Also joining as a member is Whelen Aerospace Technologies, which designs, engineers and manufactures lighting products for the aerospace industry, including landing, taxi, anti-collision and position lights for general aviation aircraft.
Like Jump Aero, Aura Network Systems has joined as an Associate Member EPIC and provides air-to-ground wireless communications networks which enables voice, data and navigation capabilities for the aviation community.
GAMA is an international trade association representing more than 100 of the world’s leading manufacturers of general aviation airplanes and rotorcraft, engines, avionics, components and related services. Notable members include Airbus Helicopters, Bell, Boeing, GE Aviation and Rolls-Royce.
