MD Aircraft Signs LOI for 10 MDA1 Aircraft with Makmor To Help Expand Electric Air Mobility in India

MD Aircraft GmbH has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) for the sale of 10 of its MDA1 eViatorTM aircraft to Makmor, headquartered in Bangalore, India.

This agreement marks a significant step toward expanding zero-emission regional aviation in the Indian market and further demonstrates the growing global demand for electric air mobility.

The German company is developing zero emission, quiet and cost-efficient electric aircraft for Regional Air Mobility. MD Aircraft’s flagship program, the MDA1 eViator, aims to help redefine air travel with initial flight tests scheduled in early 2028, and commercial certification and entry into service targeted for 2030.

MD Aircraft is part of the MD Group, including MD Flugzeugbau and MD Composites Technologies GmbH, which has more than 30 years’ experience designing, building and certifying composite aircraft. This includes a decade with electric propulsion.

Gregor Müller, CEO of MD Aircraft GmbH, said: “We are excited to partner with Makmor and see the MDA1 eViator gaining broader traction in the regional air mobility market.

“This Letter of Intent reflects the increasing global interest in our all-electric, nine-passenger eCSTOL aircraft. We look forward to working closely with our growing operator community to ensure that we meet their mission requirements and that we move together toward carbon-free air travel.”

Makmor is a dynamic firm blending global reach with deep regional expertise. It embodies growth, expansion and futuristic innovation, creating business opportunities across diverse sectors like aerospace, defense, agriculture, automotive, emerging technologies — delivering solutions that truly transform lives.

Ravi Andrews, Managing Partner of Makmor, added: “MDA’s eViator is the ideal platform for us to establish Makmor as a significant regional operator committed to sustainable aviation.

“Ravi, Makmor, leveraging regional and global expertise — including prior corporate experience with Honeywell Aerospace and Airbus Defence & Space — will transform green air mobility across Indian skies.”
