Strong panels of leading industry experts to discuss next steps needed for advanced air mobility in online event

eVTOL air­craft devel­op­er Wisk, the Cana­di­an Advanced Air Mobil­i­ty Con­sor­tium (CAAM) and Women and Drones will lead an online dis­cus­sion about the steps need­ed to make advanced air mobil­i­ty a suc­cess.

Tak­ing place on May 20th from 9am PT/12noon ET, the 90-minute event will fea­ture some of the indus­try’s most influ­en­tial women and starts with a keynote fire­side chat between Anna Kominik, Wisk’s Asia Pacif­ic Region Direc­tor and Sharon Ross­mark, CEO of Women and Drones.

Before join­ing Wisk, Kominik held senior man­age­ment roles in the pub­lic and pri­vate sec­tors work­ing across Aus­trala­sia and served as a con­sul­tant to boards, gov­ern­ments and the avi­a­tion sec­tor.

She is cur­rent­ly the inde­pen­dent Chair of the Elec­tric­i­ty Retail­ers’ Asso­ci­a­tion of New Zealand (ERANZ) and sits on the board of the New Zealand Unit­ed States Busi­ness Coun­cil and the New Zealand Inter­na­tion­al Fes­ti­val of the Arts. Anna is a mem­ber of the New Zealand Insti­tute of Direc­tors, and was a recip­i­ent of the Com­mon­wealth Foun­da­tion Emerg­ing Pacif­ic Lead­ers Schol­ar­ship.

As CEO of Women and Drones, Ross­mark leads the net­work which brings togeth­er women from around the world to help them con­nect and suc­ceed in the drone indus­try. It is cur­rent­ly receiv­ing nom­i­na­tions for this year’s Women to Watch in UAS Glob­al Awards, which are now in its fifth year. Entries need to be sub­mit­ted by 11.59pm CST this Fri­day, May 14th.

Fol­low­ing the keynote chat, the event will then break out into four dis­cus­sions cov­er­ing oppor­tu­ni­ties in the advanced air mobil­i­ty indus­try. ‘Careers in AAM’ will fea­ture Chan­tal Bouch­er of Bell Heli­copter Tex­tron, San­ja Boskovic of the British Colum­bia Insti­tute of Tech­nol­o­gy, Dominique Sauve of the Cana­di­an Mobil­i­ty & Aero­space Insti­tute, Mariya Ili­na of Flight Crowd and Dawn Zol­di, of P3 Tech Con­sult­ing.

‘Bring­ing Peo­ple to the Table’, will con­sist of Danielle McLean from Hap­py Take­off, Adri­enne Lind­gren of Hyundai, Jean­nie Lam from Wisk, Court­ney Gill from the World Eco­nom­ic Forum and Mike Hirschberg of the Ver­ti­cal Flight Soci­ety, who is the token Male.

Yolan­ka Wulff from the Com­mu­ni­ty Air Mobil­i­ty Ini­tia­tive (CAMI), Tri­cia Gads­den of Deloitte, Chelsey Wright of Ele­vate Avi­a­tion, Francine Schulz of Ham­burg Avi­a­tion and Natasha Gagnon of Ontario Aero­space Coun­cil will be dis­cussing ‘Lessons from Avi­a­tion’.

While Mar­lene Con­way Diels from the Diver­si­ty Devel­op­ment Net­work, Mariya Tara­banovs­ka of Flight Crowd, Felisa Zhang from Archer Avi­a­tion, Mau­r­ren Ged­des from Ged­des Glob­al and Janet Wardie of MHI Cana­da Aero­space will lead the con­ver­sa­tion titled ‘Inclu­sive is Prof­itable’.

This event is part of CAAM’s Annu­al Uplift event series, to help advance efforts to build the most suc­cess­ful future pos­si­ble. This includes a strong com­mit­ment to equi­ty and diver­si­ty. Upcom­ing talks will be focused around the inclu­siv­i­ty of the LGBTQ+ com­mu­ni­ty in advanced air mobil­i­ty.

This talk is sched­uled to take place on August 19th, while a con­ver­sa­tion involv­ing indige­nous peo­ple in the indus­try is set to take place on Novem­ber 18th.
