August 2026

The August edition reflects a particularly significant period for the sector, with July bringing major progress across certification, flight testing, commercial partnerships and infrastructure, culminating in a highly successful Farnborough International Airshow.

Advanced Air Mobility featured prominently at Farnborough, with Vertical Aerospace completing a historic public transition flight, BETA Technologies demonstrating its ALIA aircraft, and Joby Aviation and Virgin Atlantic showcasing plans to introduce electric air taxi services in the UK.

The magazine also explores the growing convergence between commercial and defence applications, including Archer Aviation’s unveiling of its Halo commercial aircraft, developed alongside Anduril’s Thunder defence variant.

Beyond the major developments at Farnborough, the August edition examines how the industry is increasingly shifting its attention from aircraft development towards the practical requirements of commercial operations.

The publication also released its first exclusive CEO Feature, which focuses on Michal Illich, founder and CEO of Zuri and explores the company’s decision to take a different approach to many of its AAM competitors.

Under the headline “Building Zuri Without Following the Crowd”, Illich discusses Zuri’s decision to pursue hybrid power, a conventional wing and vertical take-off, as well as the company’s focus on validating its technology through incremental flight testing.

The feature explores Zuri’s strategy of pursuing uncrewed cargo operations as an initial commercial application, with Illich arguing that cargo could provide a faster and more commercially viable route towards the company’s longer-term passenger ambitions.

The August edition also looks ahead to eVTOL Insights’ Europe Conference, taking place in Toulouse in October. French hybrid-electric aviation company Ascendance has been announced as the host, with delegates invited to an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of its facilities and the opportunity to learn more about its ATEA aircraft and STERNA propulsion system.
