Barracuda Networks Partners With Airspeeder Team Australia
Barracuda Networks has been named an official partner of Airspeeder Team Australia for the inaugural Airspeeder International Series, an electric flying car racing championship scheduled to begin in 2026.
The partnership will see Barracuda branding appear on Team Australia’s Mk3C speeder and team uniforms throughout the season. The cybersecurity company will also host customers and partners at selected race events and team facilities.
Airspeeder was founded in 2019 and organises races involving electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, referred to by the series as speeders. According to the companies, the races are intended to serve not only as sporting events but also as real-world testing environments, with flight telemetry contributing to the development of propulsion, control and safety systems.
In this instance, Airspeeder serves as a testbed for autonomous and intelligent mobility, while the aircraft’s telemetry provides data that can be used to evaluate performance and safety systems.
Team Australia made its competitive debut at The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia in April 2026. Its Mk3C aircraft was designed and built in Adelaide.
The Airspeeder International Series will feature national teams competing with electric flying racecraft, with universities, aerospace companies and advanced manufacturing organisations supporting the participating teams. The first scheduled race is due to take place in Adelaide in November 2026.
Barracuda said its involvement reflects the data-intensive nature of modern air racing, while Airspeeder described the partnership as supporting the Australian team’s racing programme.
