BETA Technologies Reports Record Q3 Revenue as A250 Receives FAA Market Survey Authorisation

BETA Technologies reported record quarterly revenue of $17.7 million for the third quarter of 2026, up 98% year on year, as it secured a new FAA authorisation for its A250 electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and expanded its operational activity across the United States.

The company, which is developing electric aircraft and charging infrastructure, recorded a net loss of $119.1 million for the three months ended 30 September, compared with $437.2 million in the same period last year. Adjusted EBITDA was a loss of $97.4 million, against $67.6 million in Q3 2025.

Operating expenses increased to $140.5 million, including $90.5 million in research and development costs, reflecting continued investment in aircraft development and certification. Capital expenditure also rose, reaching $28.8 million compared with $13 million a year earlier.

BETA said the FAA had granted its A250 the first Special Airworthiness Certificate for market surveys issued to an electric VTOL aircraft. The authorisation permits the company to conduct demonstration flights with prospective customers on board ahead of type certification. Its conventional take-off and landing CX300 aircraft already holds a similar market survey authorisation.

The company also reported that its aircraft fleet had flown more than 250,000 nautical miles, exceeding its target for the year. The total includes operations by both conventional take-off and landing and VTOL aircraft, providing flight data to support development and certification work.

BETA’s charging network grew to 168 sites during the quarter. It also reported a commercial aircraft backlog of just over $4 billion, comprising 1,040 aircraft in firm and option orders supported by financial commitments.

Operational activity has also expanded through the FAA’s eVTOL Integration Pilot Program (eIPP), with BETA saying it had launched six of the programme’s seven selections. Missions have included medical supply transport in North Carolina, emergency response equipment deliveries in Texas and the movement of time-sensitive cancer medicines in Utah.

Kyle Clark, Beta’s CEO, appeared on CNBC on the 3rd of November to discuss the company future plans and the key milestones that were hit this year.
