FIA 2026: Eve Air Mobility Signs Two Partnerships for its eVTOL Aircraft at Farnborough

Eve Air Mobil­i­ty has signed two new part­ner­ship deals, pro­vid­ing air­craft to two new com­pa­nies — Shear­wa­ter and Moov — for their expan­sion into dis­tinct mar­kets.

Eve has secured an order of up to 16 VTOL air­craft from Shear­wa­ter via a Let­ter of Intent.

Shear­wa­ter, a spe­cial­ist avi­a­tion lender, pro­vides asset-based financ­ing glob­al­ly. The agree­ment sup­ports its strat­e­gy to expand into emerg­ing asset class­es such as advanced air mobil­i­ty (AAM) fol­low­ing its inte­gra­tion with Bay Point in April 2026. The com­pa­nies will explore leas­ing solu­tions and addi­tion­al financ­ing oppor­tu­ni­ties as the sec­tor devel­ops.

The LOI adds to Eve’s exist­ing back­log of air­craft com­mit­ments. Eve’s eVTOL air­craft are designed to pro­vide effi­cient and sus­tain­able trans­porta­tion, draw­ing on Embraer’s aero­space expe­ri­ence — which makes them ide­al as gen­er­al-pur­pose options for air mobil­i­ty ser­vices.

Moov

Eve and Moov have signed a Let­ter of Intent for up to 30 elec­tric ver­ti­cal take-off and land­ing (eVTOL) air­craft. The agree­ment sup­ports joint explo­ration of advanced air mobil­i­ty (AAM) oppor­tu­ni­ties in Cabo Verde and Europe, with a focus on how eVTOLs could expand tourism and region­al con­nec­tiv­i­ty in the African arch­i­pel­ago.

The com­pa­nies plan to eval­u­ate poten­tial use cas­es includ­ing sight­see­ing flights, shut­tle ser­vices between air­ports, ports, and resorts, and region­al con­nec­tions link­ing islands such as São Vicente, San­to Antão, Sal, Pra­ia, and Boa Vista. Med­ical trans­port and infra­struc­ture inspec­tion appli­ca­tions are also under con­sid­er­a­tion.

“This LOI with Moov reflects Eve’s con­tin­ued com­mit­ment to work­ing with cus­tomers and part­ners that are build­ing prac­ti­cal, high-val­ue advanced air mobil­i­ty use cas­es,” said Johann Bor­dais, CEO of Eve. “Cabo Verde offers a com­pelling com­bi­na­tion of tourism demand growth, geo­graph­ic diver­si­ty and infra­struc­ture invest­ment momen­tum.”

Cabo Verde’s tourism sec­tor has shown steady growth. Accord­ing to the World Bank, tourist arrivals reached an esti­mat­ed 1.18 mil­lion in 2024, rep­re­sent­ing a 16.5% increase year-over-year. The coun­try con­tin­ues to invest in trans­port con­nec­tiv­i­ty and vis­i­tor infra­struc­ture, cre­at­ing poten­tial for eVTOLs to com­ple­ment exist­ing net­works.

Moov is a Switzer­land-incor­po­rat­ed avi­a­tion com­pa­ny head­quar­tered in Lugano. It is devel­op­ing the Atlantic Gate­way, an inter­con­ti­nen­tal avi­a­tion net­work con­nect­ing Europe, Africa, and Latin Amer­i­ca. The com­pa­ny is also assess­ing how AAM tech­nolo­gies could sup­port local con­nec­tiv­i­ty and pre­mi­um trav­el with­in its net­work.

Moov’s lead­er­ship team includes exec­u­tives with exten­sive expe­ri­ence in air­line oper­a­tions, air car­go, pro­cure­ment, finance, and strat­e­gy. For­mer roles include posi­tions at Azul, Swiss Inter­na­tion­al Air Lines, Eti­had Air­ways, FedEx, and ASL Avi­a­tion Group.
