FlyOnE Limited Secures Ten MDA1 Electric Aircraft from MD Aircraft GmbH
Australian aviation company FlyOnE Limited has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with German manufacturer MD Aircraft GmbH for ten MDA1 eViator all-electric aircraft, outlining plans to introduce the nine-passenger aircraft to the Australian regional aviation market.
The agreement would see FlyOnE integrate the MDA1 into its existing aviation activities, which include air transport, aircraft supply and development, pilot training, aerial services and aviation infrastructure. The companies have not announced a delivery schedule or disclosed the financial terms of the LOI.
The MDA1 eViator is being developed for regional air mobility, with a planned capacity of nine passengers. MD Aircraft is targeting initial flight tests in early 2028, followed by commercial certification and entry into service in 2030.
The programme builds on the experience of MD Group companies MD Flugzeugbau and MD Composites Technologies, which have more than 30 years of experience in composite aircraft design and manufacturing, including a decade of work involving electric propulsion.
For FlyOnE, the proposed aircraft would add a higher-capacity option to its portfolio of electric and low-emission aviation activities. The Australian company has focused on deploying electric aircraft in commercial operations and developing supporting infrastructure and services.
FlyOnE founder and chief executive Korum Ellis said the company was looking to introduce aircraft with greater range and passenger capacity into its existing operational network. He said the partnership would combine MD Aircraft’s technology with FlyOnE’s operational experience and market presence.
“By combining advanced aircraft and propulsion technology with FlyOnE’s operational experience, infrastructure and established market channels, we believe we can accelerate the transition toward cleaner, more efficient general aviation and make these technologies genuinely accessible to operators and passengers.”
MD Aircraft chief executive Gregor Müller said FlyOnE’s experience in electric aviation made it a potential partner for bringing the MDA1 into commercial operations.
“We are proud to partner with FlyOnE, whose pioneering role in electric aviation make them an ideal partner to bring the MDA1 into commercial service through their well-established operational network.”
