Jump Aero, Utah State Partner to Explore First Responder eVTOL Services
California-based Jump Aero, an aviation manufacturer constructing “the world’s fastest sustainable personal aircraft”, and the Utah Dept of Transportation-Division of Aeronautics, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore how many Jump JA‑1 Pulse personal eVTOL aircraft would be required to provide first responder services around the state and how best to merge Utah’s existing first response organisations, reports a press release.
Utah is well-suited to benefit from the JA‑1 Pulse Aircraft as it is a U.S state with many remote and rural communities that welcomes a large influx of tourists to its numerous remote and hard to access natural attractions. At present, ambulance arrival and first response times in many difficult to access areas is well below what is considered necessary to support positive healthcare outcomes. By enabling skilled first responders to fly directly to the scene of the emergency, Jump Aero’s platform can save both lives of Utah’s residents and visitors.
The MOU forges a relationship between Jump Aero and the State of Utah by bringing both parties closer to the goal of transporting medical professionals to the scene of an emergency as quickly as possible.
Carl Dietrich, Jump Aero President and CEO commented, “It is very gratifying to work with the State and their expert first responders to bring the JA‑1 and its life saving potential to the people of Utah. The JA1 Pulse can fly one trained professional plus emergency equipment to unimproved landing zones in rural areas.”
Paul Damron, Advanced Air Mobility Manager, UDOTs Division of Aeronautics, added, “We are excited by this working relationship.”
