LYTE Aviation confirms 10 more pre orders of its 40-seater eVTOL LA-44 X Prime by Ghenus Air, for regional routes in Korea and the USA
LYTE Aviation has received 10 more pre orders from Ghenus Air for its LA-44 aircraft, which will be delivered within five to six years for their US & Korean markets
This order adds to further aircraft pre-orders Ghenus Air has already placed with PLANA and Odys Aviation. Ghenus has also placed a 20-strong order from Traverse Aero.
With LYTE’s LA-44 SkyBus and its cargo variant, the SkyTruck, Ghenus is expanding its door-to-door market for corporate executives, families, businesses and small group tours.
It follows on from LYTE making a similar partnership with Vman Aviation Services and Kookiejar of Sweden.
Freshta Farzam, CEO and Founder of LYTE Aviation, said: “This pre-order comes at a great timing for us, as we are expanding our portfolio from not only disrupting mass transit with our 40-seater point-to-point eVTOL, the SkyBus, then the logistics industry with our SkyTruck (4.5 ton cargo), but now with the huge demand in business aviation to introduce also our 19-seater LA-44 X Prime version.
LYTE Aviation is developing a 40-seater eVTOL aircraft for urban and regional mobility. They offer so far the passenger version, the SkyBus and its cargo variant, the SkyTruck which has a 4.5‑tonne payload capability.
SkyBus offers a range of 620 miles (1,000 km) with a max speed of 190 mph (300 km/hr). The LA-44 has a tandem tilt-wing design, with a full-scale prototype being planned within 24 months and serial production within five to six years.
Commenting on this partnership, Joseph Kim, CEO of Ghenus Air, said: “We see high potential in the Korean and US RAM market. In the United States, there is ample marketability for regional air service utilising underutilised regional airports.
And since Korea is pursuing a hydrogen economy, the use of hydrogen-based Skybus and Skytruck is expected to not only be symbolic, but also make a significant contribution to improving the profitability of local airports that are suffering huge losses.”
Kim added: “We are currently designing the interiors of our prime version, varying from large meeting rooms in the sky that will take off right at your corporate’s door step, no runways required anymore, up to spacious solutions for families for a flight duration of two to three hours, taking off right at their home doorsteps.”
“In this regard, we are deeply grateful that we have the great opportunity of purchasing Lyte Aviation’s hybrid-hydrogen SkyBus, SkyTruck and their LA-44 X Prime version and to establish new routes between existing regional airports and new vertiports.”
