Sergio Biganzoli joins Manta hybrid-electric long range eVTOL Aircraft as CFO

Ser­gio Bigan­zoli, for­mer chief finan­cial offi­cer (CFO) of AgustaWest­land, is join­ing hybrid-elec­tric long range eV/STOL OEM Man­ta Air­craft, which spe­cialis­es in region­al avi­a­tion.

After almost eight years in a lead­er­ship posi­tion of one of the most impor­tant heli­copter com­pa­nies in the world, and fur­ther expe­ri­ence in finan­cial man­age­ment con­sult­ing, Bigan­zoli takes the lead in inter­nal and exter­nal devel­op­ment to over­see struc­tur­ing actions and man­ag­ing finan­cial com­mu­ni­ca­tions for cor­po­rate events.

He fol­lows top aero­space man­agers Guiseppe Orsi, for­mer CEO and Chair­man of Fin­mec­ca­ni­ca (now Leonar­do), Fabio Nanon­ni, for­mer Senior Vice Pres­i­dent of engi­neer­ing and Senior Vice Pres­i­dent for Safe­ty Sys­tem Gov­er­nance at Leonar­do Heli­copters, and Stephen Moss, for­mer CEO of AgustaWest­land North Amer­i­ca, who serves in an advi­so­ry role to Man­ta Air­craft’s board and man­age­ment.

Man­ta Air­craft CEO Lucas March­esi­ni said: “I am very pleased to have Ser­gio join our team and with his long and in-depth expe­ri­ence in the aero­nau­ti­cal sec­tor, he will pro­vide a valu­able con­tri­bu­tion for our future.

“This is fur­ther con­fir­ma­tion of the inter­est and vis­i­ble poten­tial of our dif­fer­en­ti­at­ed and unique advanced air mobil­i­ty (AAM) solu­tion.”

Bigan­zoli added: “The ideas, approach­es, set up and enor­mous poten­tial of Man­ta Air­craft’s solu­tion in one of the most excit­ing mar­kets of today has con­vinced me from the begin­ning.

“I am now look­ing for­ward to con­tribut­ing with Giuseppe, Fabio and Stephen to build an excit­ing avi­a­tion com­pa­ny of the future.”

Man­ta Air­craft is devel­op­ing a range of per­for­mance-ori­ent­ed eVTOL for region­al air mobil­i­ty and plans to begin cer­ti­fi­ca­tion of the first two-seat, mul­ti-pur­pose mod­el ANN2 in 2023.

Last month, Nay­lam, a lux­u­ry VIP Chauf­feur Ser­vice oper­at­ing in four regions world­wide, added region­al air mobil­i­ty ser­vices with 10 ANN eVTOL mul­ti-seater air­crafts from start-up Man­ta Air­craft Italia.

In May, Man­ta Air­craft and pri­vate med­ical air trans­port com­pa­ny Avionord agreed to field up to 15 hybrid-elec­tric long-range eVTOL air­craft derived from Manta’s ANN plat­form.
