Trump Unveils “Bold Plan to Construct 10 Freedom Cities” to Beat China in the eVTOL and VTOL race
Former U.S President, Donald Trump, proposed late last week the building of “up to 10 futuristic freedom cities” on federal land, as part of a plan “to create a new American future” in a country that has “lost its boldness,” reports cnn.com.
The 2024 Presidential contender then referred to the impending Urban Air Mobility revolution in a new four-minute video. “I want to ensure that America, not China, leads this revolution in air mobility.”
Trump explained he would launch a contest to charter up to “10 freedom cities” roughly the size of Washington, DC, on undeveloped federal land. “We’ll actually build new cities in our country again. These freedom cities will reopen the frontier, reignite American imagination, and give hundreds of thousands of young people and other people, all hardworking families, a new shot at home ownership and in fact, the American dream.”
In a press release, Trump’s campaign then said that 10 cities the size of Washington, D.C., could be built using less than one-tenth of 1 percent of the hundreds of million of acres of “empty” government-owned land. That land would not be part of U.S. national parks, the campaign asserted.
Trump’s proposal sketches a vision of an American future that alludes in some ways to “The Jetsons,” the classic cartoon depicting a high-tech utopian society, where commuters travelled to work via flying cars.

The scheme is the latest in a series of early policy offerings from Trump, who in recent weeks has also said he would seek to ramp up domestic energy production, adopt a more isolationist foreign policy stance and purge the government and military of “warmongers and globalists.”
While only a proposal, this is yet another stamp of approval for the nascent Urban Air Mobility industry.
