VertiPorts by Atlantic Appoints David Claisse as General Manager of NYCEDC’s East 34th Street Heliport
VertiPorts by Atlantic, a wholly owned subsidiary of Atlantic Aviation, has appointed experienced aviation operator David Claisse as General Manager of Manhattan’s East 34th Street Heliport in New York.
Claisse is a United States Marines veteran who started his aviation career as a line service technician, previously was GM for Atlantic Aviation’s Bridgeport/Sikorsky Airport in Stratford, CT.
He takes over for Patricia Wagner, who has served as GM of 6N5 since 1999. She has enjoyed a 43-year career of significant contributions to the company and New York aviation community, and will continue in an advisory to role to ensure a seamless transition for aviation operators and customers.

As part of Atlantic Aviation, one of the nation’s largest networks of fixed base operations (FBOs) with 108 locations across North America, VertiPorts by Atlantic is developing a scalable network of vertiports designed to enable electric air taxi operations in some of the most congested urban and regional markets in the United States. The initial focus includes key regions across New York, New Jersey, Florida, California, and Texas, where demand for advanced air mobility solutions is highest.
In supporting the New York City Economic Development Corporation’s (NYCEDC) mission of delivering sustainable infrastructure to benefit communities and the city’s economy, VertiPorts by Atlantic is adding utility and charging infrastructure that will allow 6N5 to offer air taxi service via quiet, safe and sustainable eVTOL aircraft.
On May 1st, VertiPorts by Atlantic hosted Joby Aviation’s successful electric air taxi flight demonstration at 6N5, showing how eVTOL aircraft can enhance connectivity utilizing existing aviation.
The company also is adding its capabilities to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and NYCEDC’s participation in the U.S. Department of Transportation’ s Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing Integration Pilot Program (eIPP), which has formed public-private partnerships to advance AAM services in the U.S.
