The con­struc­tion of NEOM in Sau­di Ara­bia has many crit­ics. “Far too much mon­ey required”; “Tech­no­log­i­cal mad­ness!”; “It will nev­er be built” etc.. Yet, the project relent­less­ly moves for­ward at a rapid speed and yes­ter­day the lat­est video of its progress was released.

The YouTube film has attract­ed over 25,000 views in less than a day, where every new fea­ture and man-hour spent shows the world that this isn’t just some crazy fan­ta­sy, but what will become an actu­al real­i­ty, push­ing the realms of vision­ary splen­dour to a new and breath­tak­ing high­er lev­el. The plan is not to have cars, vehi­cles or roads in the main city referred to as THE LINE, but eVTOLs and deliv­ery drones instead.

At present, over 60,000 con­struc­tion work­ers are on the ground build­ing the var­i­ous NEOM regions. These are THE LINE, Oxagon, Sin­dalah and Tro­je­na. Major infra­struc­ture projects like roads, util­i­ties and a hos­pi­tal are already built, and sig­nif­i­cant mile­stones have been achieved since the project’s last progress video was released in Jan­u­ary 2023.
