Welcome Pegasus Aerospace: “The Lean, Mean, Green Fly & Drive Personal Vehicle for the Rebellious at Heart”
Another Fly & Drive vehicle comes to the market, but with a twist. It drives like a feisty Go-Kart and takes to the air like a waspish butterfly. The company behind it has Australian roots, but now resides in Las Vegas under the name Pegasus Aerospace Corporation.
The press release says, “The world of advanced air mobility is a ferment of activity, with much technological development focusing on the use of pure-electric propulsion. Being the first to come out with an eVTOL with the greatest range, the lightest battery pack, the fastest speed, and the best economic model, has been the holy grail of aviation for the past ten years or more, but technical and regulatory barriers persist. How refreshing, then, to see a company that has an AAM offering ready in the here and now.”
The company even refers to its creation as an “Air Ferrari” where it is “not only a hybrid VTOL, but is also a sports car whose sophistication channels Formula One.”
Perhaps, the vehicle exudes an arrogance to boot?
The aim is for the Fly & Drive to gain a helicopter pilot’s license along with a driver’s license, where the owner can park the Pegasus in a home garage; then take a short drive to the nearest vertiport or airfield; and take off for a destination, repeating the process on the other side. So, the aim of every global Fly & Drive vehicle company.
“A car trip that might normally take 60 minutes one-way will literally only take 15 minutes door-to-door,” continues the release. “This is convenience personified!”

The company states the E‑Class has a range of 300 miles and can fly for up to three hours before requiring to refuel. And filling the tank is easy. Now, here we go with the hybrid-fuel. The release says, “You just pull into any gas station and fill up with normal high-octane gasoline.”
Hang on, where is the green element?
The release continues, “As a car, the E‑Class can achieve over 75 miles per hour on pure-electric power.” So, the driving is green and the flying is petrol. Sneaky.
The company explains, “The Pegasus product range encompasses single and dual-seaters and a 4‑seater air taxi, the “Pegasus Air-Taxi,” and its potential applications span the gamut of civilian, medical, logistics, police, and emergency services.” Adding, “There is a Pegasus configuration to suit any buyer and any need.”
Now, it becomes more serious.
The E‑Class civilian and police models, claim the company, have already obtained airworthiness registration with Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and are flown in Australia under existing airspace regulations.
“A big milestone for Pegasus in 2024 will be leveraging its CASA registration and inter-operability standards between Australia and the U.S to fast track obtaining the equivalent registration from the FAA,” continues the release. “Pegasus Aerospace is looking forward to ending 2024 in the position of being able to offer U.S consumers the ability to enjoy a real flying car!”
Meanwhile, the company’s ambition is, as you would expect… Robust.
It aims to become a leading global manufacturer of “Air-Ferrari” flying cars and to pioneer establishing and operating short-haul point-to-point “Pegasus Air Taxi” services among the 57 biggest U.S metro areas, filling gaps in the existing hub and spoke airline service model. In the meantime, Pegasus is to introduce the E‑Class to the North American aviation world at CES in January 2025.
Good luck to the company and come next January and CES, who knows where this may go? Meanwhile, the videos are well worth a watch.
