AIR UNIQON and flyvbird — VINI join forces to strengthen regional air transport in Germany

VINI (flyvbird) has launched a new partnership with Germany’s newest regional airline, AIR UNIQON, with customers now able to book flights from Friedrichshafen to Berlin, Dusseldorf and Hamburg via VINI’s platform.

VINI operates an AI-powered platform for regional air mobility and is already active with its own connections in Germany, Switzerland, Croatia, and Slovenia. The company serves routes such as Mannheim to Berlin, Bern to Munich, and several Adriatic connections from Lower Bavaria.

The company’s proprietary AI analyses demand patterns in real time, identifies profitable new routes, and dynamically optimizes flight schedules. This technology is now also available to AIR UNIQON.

Since its first flight on January 12th of this year, AIR UNIQON has connected the Lake Constance region with Berlin, Dusseldorf, and Hamburg. With 20 weekly flights operated by Avanti Air using the proven Dash 8‑Q400 (78 seats), the company says it has closed a gap left behind after the withdrawal of Lufthansa, Germania, and Sun Air.

Fabian Rosenberg, Managing Director, AIR UNIQON GmbH, said: “AIR UNIQON has proven in a very short time that regional air connections work in Germany. With VINI as a technology partner, we gain access to an AI platform that helps us further develop our network planning in a data-driven way and identify new routes in a targeted manner. At the same time, we reach another exciting target group via the VINI platform. This is a win for us, for our passengers, and for the regions we connect.”

How it works

Passengers can now book AIR UNIQON flights through two channels:

  • Directly with AIR UNIQON (airuniqon.com)
  • Through all common booking platforms via GDS, Flexflight/W2
  • Or through the VINI platform (www.flyvini.com)

In addition, VINI’s AI system analyzes demand for potential new routes. If the data shows that a new connection from Friedrichshafen is economically viable, this can be integrated into AIR UNIQON’s network planning.

What the partnership means for both sides

For AIR UNIQON:

  • Access to VINI’s AI-based demand analysis, making it possible to further support AIR UNIQON’s network planning
  • An additional sales channel: AIR UNIQON flights are visible via www.flyvini.com and within the VINI network
  • Marketing support: VINI uses its communication channels to strengthen additional digital marketing activities and passenger acquisition for jointly marketed routes

For VINI:

  • Expansion of the platform network through proven routes from Friedrichshafen
  • Strengthening of its position as a leading platform for regional air traffic in Central Europe

Tomislav Lang, Founder & CEO, VINI (flyvbird), said: “AIR UNIQON is the best proof that regional flying has a future. What Fabian and his team have built in Friedrichshafen is exactly what we want to scale with VINI. Our AI finds the demand, AIR UNIQON gets the flights into the air. That is how platform aviation works: everyone does what they do best. And together we connect the unconnected.”

A strong signal for regional air transport

Germany has hundreds of regional airports and airfields that have been losing importance for years. At the same time, many economically strong regions remain poorly connected.

AIR UNIQON has proven in Friedrichshafen that the need for direct regional connections is real for Germany as a business location. VINI has proven with its AI-powered platform technology that this demand can be systematically unlocked. The partnership brings these two insights together in a model that can be transferred to additional locations and routes.

Booking
