EHang announces new COO and confirms CAAC has adopted Special Conditions for EH216-SAAV type certification

EHang has appoint­ed Xin Fang as its new Chief Oper­at­ing Offi­cer, who will be respon­si­ble for the com­pa­ny’s dai­ly oper­a­tions with a focus on sales and com­mer­cial­i­sa­tion of Urban Air Mobil­i­ty ser­vices.

Fang is a sea­soned busi­ness leader with more than 20 years of busi­ness admin­is­tra­tion and oper­a­tional expe­ri­ence and a master’s degree in busi­ness admin­is­tra­tion from Nan­chang Uni­ver­si­ty.

He has track record of suc­cess in the fields of sales of IT prod­uct and sys­tem inte­gra­tion solu­tions, tourism oper­a­tion and man­age­ment, tourism real estate devel­op­ment, etc. In 2000, Mr. Fang found­ed Bei­jing Yihang­tianx­in Tech­nol­o­gy Devel­op­ment Co., Ltd., one of the Top Tier Dis­trib­u­tors of IBM Sys­tem x™ in Chi­na with sophis­ti­cat­ed IT sys­tem projects deployed for large-scale enter­pris­es and gov­ern­ment depart­ments, such as the Min­istry of Indus­try and Infor­ma­tion Tech­nol­o­gy of Chi­na.

In 2012, Mr. Fang found­ed Wun­ing Xiny­i­hang Invest­ment Devel­op­ment Co., Ltd., rep­re­sen­ta­tive projects of which include the Blue­town Sea Hi Tourism Town in China’s nation­al AAAAA-lev­el Lushan West Sea Scenic Spot, a major tourism project in Jiangxi province, Chi­na.

Xin Fang’s appoint­ment fol­lows on from the ear­li­er news that the Civ­il Avi­a­tion Admin­is­tra­tion of Chi­na (CAAC) has for­mal­ly adopt­ed the Spe­cial Con­di­tions for EH216-SAAV Type Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion, which was effec­tive on Feb­ru­ary 9th and pub­lished on the CAAC web­site on Tues­day.

The Spe­cial Con­di­tions pro­vides EHang with the basis for com­pli­ance and safe­ty of EH216‑S AAVs, includ­ing flight per­for­mance, struc­tures, design and con­struc­tions, propul­sion sys­tems, sys­tems and equip­ment, data link and ground con­trol sta­tion. 

EHang expects to deploy the EH216‑S unmanned air­craft sys­tem in low-alti­tude pas­sen­ger-car­ry­ing com­mer­cial oper­a­tions in the Urban Air Mobil­i­ty sec­tor.
