MD Aircraft Signs LOI with Aerova for its 20 MDA1 eViatorTM electric aircraft to operate across Canada
MD Aircraft GmbH today announced the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Aerova Inc, which covers the initial deployment of 20 MDA1 eViatorTM aircraft for operations across Canada.
Aerova Inc. is based in the country andfocused on next-generation aviation across both autonomous air logistics and regional passenger transport.
It deploys aviation systems through regulator-aligned, corridor-based operations, enabling scalable movement of goods and people across remote, industrial, and infrastructure-constrained regions.
With its new Aerova partnership, MD Aircraft has executed Letters of Intent for 140 aircraft, reflecting strong international demand for electric regional aviation solutions.
Ravi Gade, CEO of Aerova Inc, said: “This LOI marks a significant step in expanding Aerova’s role as an operator across both cargo and passenger aviation. While our foundation is in autonomous air logistics, this partnership enables us to extend into regional passenger operations, leveraging electric aircraft to deliver efficient, low-emission connectivity across underserved and remote regions in Canada.”
MD Aircraft GmbH is a German aerospace company dedicated to developing zero emission, quiet, cost-efficient electric aircraft for Regional Air Mobility.
MD Aircraft is part of the MD Group including MD Flugzeugbau and MD Composites Technologies GmbH which has over 30 years’ experience designing, building, and certifying composite aircraft — a decade with electric propulsion.
MD Aircraft’s says its flagship program, the MDA1 eViator, will redefine regional air mobility with initial flight tests in early 2028, and commercial certification and entry into service targeted for 2030.
Gregor Müller, CEO of MD Aircraft GmbH, added: “We are pleased to partner with Aerova as they expand into regional passenger aviation. The MDA1 eViatorTM is designed to enable sustainable and cost-efficient regional transport, and Aerova’s operator-led approach makes them an ideal partner for early deployment.”
